Happy Memorial Day

We had an exciting Memorial weekend.

The kids and I braved the toy store on Saturday morning. Charlotte got a kiddie pool, a soccer ball, and a new kite (she wanted the one with Transformers on it). Sebastian got a seat for the swingset so he could play outside too.

Charlotte briefly appeared in her red, white, and blue outfit on Memorial day before covering it with raspberry smears.

She changed into her bathing suit so she could play in the pool.

We had friends over and barbequed, of course. Charlotte's favorite was cornbread. Mr. Patch's favorite was corn husks.
Sebastian felt left out as he was trying out plain yogurt, which he hated. Luckily today ended his three day trial so he could try something different.

Later in the evening, after Sebastian was asleep, Charlotte got to play with sparklers. It took her a moment to warm up to them, but then she had lots of fun. See, there are some benefits to being a big girl.

In other news, our groundhog (or Mrs. Groundhog) had babies. We have two tiny groundhogs running around in the yard now too. This morning was wild kingdom. The groundhogs were out, the squirrels were out, and so were the rabbits. The groundhogs were chasing the rabbits around the backyard. The groundhogs also like to climb the trees to eat the green cherries. I wonder if we will have any ripe cherries this year or if they will all be eaten before they mature!
