The Lighting of the Tree

Last night we went to the lighting of the Christmas tree on the New Haven Green. Charlotte was excited to see all of her playmates. There were lots of rides - a hayride, a carousel, and even some rather strange, automated, lifesized polar bears and reindeer with wheels on their feet that carried kids in circles around the flagpole. It was a little terrifying.

Daddy bought her a holiday balloon, which she really enjoyed. Finally, 45 minutes past tree lighting time, someone finally managed to throw the switch and the tree was illuminated. It was lovely. Then we went to dinner where Charlotte learned that sharing can be fun, especially when it's Penelope sharing her french fries!
