Happy Halloween

Charlotte had a great Halloween. It was colder here than I anticipated (being used to a nice Florida Halloween as a kid) so her sleeveless outfit had to be hastily modified with a long sleeve shirt. She made an adorable fairy and even kept her wings on the entire evening. She wasn't entirely sure wht her wand was for and tried to use it as broom on a number of occassions.

It was cool and windy; the sidewalks were covered in leaves. We decided to go all the way around the block and I'm glad we did. West Rock (the next street over) is THE Halloween hotspot in our neighborhood. It's a nice wide street covered with old elm trees. Every house had pumpkins and lights and lots of candy. Children filled the streets and you could hear them laughing and shouting "Trick or Treat." I felt like we were on a movie set.

Charlotte was a bit afraid of some of the big kids in their masks. After a particularly scary incident with someone who looked a bit like an extra from Eyes Wide Shut she demanded to be carried from house to house. However, she would get down to climb the steps to the porch and get her candy!

Happy Halloween!
