Long Time, No Blog

So, it's been a while since we posted. Let's see what all we have done...

We went to a children's fair in Guilford where Charlotte rode ponies. She was very excited to see them and I just knew that we would wait in line for 30 minutes, pay $4 and then she would refuse to get on the horse. However, she was a natural. To the cries of, "Ride horsy" she sat on her horse like a champion and rode around the ring.

We went to the Bronx Zoo twice. Charlotte had a great time. On our first visit the polar bears pooped in the water, which was exciting for us as well as all 5,000 school children present. On our second visit we met up with April, Erik and their son Alex, and Marguerite (friends of mine from college). Charlotte decided that April would be her new sherpa and demanded to be carried everywhere. Once we left, all she could talk about was Alex and she has spent a lot of time looking at his pictures on the computer.

Pippi and Marna have gone to Maine for the summer, so we said goodbye to them. Charlotte enjoyed a pool party and some bouncing in the crib. There were hugs all around and Charlotte has been very lonely this summer without her partner in crime.

Charlotte also started gymnastics. If I had known how much work it was going to be for ME I may not have signed her up! She loves it, even though she is the youngest in her group. She especially likes the trampoline and doing somersaults.

We have bought some new stuff - a kite, which we cannot make fly (not enough wind) - and a new table and two chairs for her room (a much better purchase). The table has a chalkboard surface so she can draw on it and she loves it. Of course, we are all covered in chalk now, but it is a small price to pay, I suppose.

Please check out a small photo album documenting the last weeks while I haven't been blogging and check out the video files as there is lots of new footage!
